Forklift Operator Training
Forklift Operator Training
Our cost-effective, efficient programs teach participants everything they need to know to stay safe while operating heavy machinery, forklifts and lift trucks; including how to inspect a forklift, handle a load, refuel and recharge, drive safely and follow the “rules of the road.” Make sure you comply with OSHA, and your employees stay safe with these forklift operator training courses.
Each year, tens of thousands of injuries result from equipment accidents. The Journal of Safety Research reports that operator error is, unfortunately, the number one cause of equipment-related accidents. Safety research has proven that the best way to keep your employees safe is to enroll them in operator and safety training classes.
OSHA requires that all persons who have the occasion to use any powered (Battery or Internal Combustion Engine) materials handling equipment must be certified before they can use this equipment and then re-certified at least every three (3) years thereafter. Additional training is required if any person has an accident or is observed to operate this equipment in an unsafe manner. OSHA has levied substantial fines for companies that fail to train operators, fail to perform the required inspections for each shift, and for failing to document that training and inspections have been performed.
WHY TAKE OPERATOR TRAINING
- Mandatory OSHA requirement.
- Well-trained operators will have fewer accidents than an untrained operator will.
- Reduced product damage.
- Reduced personal injury or possible death.
- Reduced insurance premiums (in some cases).
Reduced equipment maintenance costs when mandatory pre-shift checks for electric and LP-Gas and Diesel equipment are carried out on a consistent basis.
